Park Maintenance
City of Edina - 6 years

2 years as member of MPSTMA

Generally, my position requires me to respond to all park-related needs in the City of Edina. This includes tree, trail, rink, building, equipment, and field maintenance,  as well as landscaping, snow removal, and interacting with community members. My work tends to focus primarily on field maintenance in the Fall, Summer, and Spring, and ice establishment and maintenance in the Winter. In this role, I co-supervise three seasonal employees to ensure the daily operations of city-operated baseball, softball, football, soccer, and lacrosse fields are completed: turf maintenance, marking and painting fields.

Why are you running for office?
I am running for the MPSTMA Board of Directors because I want to be more involved in the organization. I want to lend my energy and experience to advance my own professional development, and the professional development opportunities MPSTMA makes available to others through workshops, meetings, and tours.

What issues should MPSTMA focus on for the future of the association?
Keeping members informed and educated on cutting edge and cost-efficient techniques for turf and field maintenance that meet the ever-changing needs of sports and park users. Increasing membership and engagement of park and sports turf managers across the state of Minnesota.
