As a Lawn Care and Holiday Design Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for meeting and exceeding sales goals and objectives in the Turf/Lawn and Holiday Design market, while developing customer business relationships that create long term value for Rainbow Lawncare and Holiday Design, as well as our customers. You will also be responsible for implementation and execution of field tactical activities that maintain and grow our product portfolio. In addition, you will function as the face of Rainbow Lawncare and Holiday Design for both our residential and commercial relationships.

Responsibilities and Duties
Sales Responsibilities and Client Management:

+ Sell Rainbow Lawncare and Holiday Design’s services and products as appropriate to meet sales goals.
+ Build and cultivate strong business relationships with key end users and maintain a working profile of opportunities with each end user
+ Advise clients on all aspects of the health of their lawn, including fertility, weed control, cultural practices, disease, or insect issues.
+ Handle technical inquiries from clients and deal with problems or concerns in regard to service issues in conjunction with management
+ Take responsibility for building sales within a designated territory.
+ Represent the company at trade shows, provide demonstrations, give presentations, etc.
+ Develop a professional and personal skill set that will impact business strategy and growth

Qualifications and Skills:
+ BS in Horticulture/Turfgrass Management (Preferred but not required)
+ 2+ years of agronomic industry experience (ex: Lawn Care & Maintenance and/or Turf & Ornamentals and/or Agricultural Products and/or Related Disciplines)
+ 2+ year(s) of direct sales experience (Turf Superintendent, Lawncare and/or Turf & Ornamental experience will be considered in lieu of direct sales experience)
+ Sales/Marketing experience in Turf/Lawn Management Turf & Ornamentals and/or related markets
+ Formal sales training courses
+ Demonstrated influencing abilities with high levels of performance
+ Account/Territory Management/Planning Experience

Position Objective:  To perform manual and semi-skilled maintenance work in the operation of light or medium weight trucks and other equipment and performs labor related tasks as required to maintain the city’s parks, facilities and streets.

Duties and Responsibilities:  Performs general maintenance to city facilities, playground equipment, bleachers, fences, backstops and ice rinks such as painting, cleaning, minor repairs.  Operates and maintains such equipment as (but not limited to) front end loaders, tractors, and self-propelled mowers and sweepers, dump trucks, litter picker, push mowers, weed whips, tree spade, snow plows and push-type rototillers.  Performs landscape functions such as hand digging, planting, tree trimming, sodding, fertilizing, spraying, and mowing turf areas.  Maintenance and installation of irrigation systems.  Removal of litter and trash in city parks and facilities.  Grooming, layout and striping of athletic fields.  Tree and shrub pruning and removal.  Sets up and takes down hockey rink boards.  Performs minor plumbing, carpentry, welding, concrete masonry, and electrical work.  Performs snowplowing and shoveling.  Works as member of team to provide safe and efficient operation of all park facilities.  May assist with City forestry-related projects, resident inquiries and programs.  Performs preventative maintenance and service work on equipment.    Perform pre-trip vehicle inspection as per CDL requirements.  Contacts vendors or purchase needed supplies or equipment as requested by supervisor.  Performs work within OSHA regulations, city safety procedures and Employee Right-to-Know law regulations.  Keeps accurate records as needed.  Uses common hand tools such as chain saws, handsaws, etc. with reasonable degree of skill and operates a variety of city equipment with proficiency.  Performs duties on weekends, holidays and evenings as assigned.  Available to work on call as emergency or need arises.  Works in cooperation with and assists other departments as needed.  Performs other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Requirements:  High school degree or equivalent. Valid MN Commercial Vehicle Driver’s License. Must obtain tanker endorsement and no air brake restriction within 6 months of hire.  Ability to lift 50 pounds and to perform all of the physical requirements of the position.

Desirable Training and Experience:  Two years of experience in related municipal work, including park and horticulture. Two years of experience in dump truck operation.  Two years of experience in light equipment operation.  Experience in building trades (carpentry, HVAV, electrical, plumbing).  Experience in irrigation installation, maintenance and repairs.  Experience in turf management and athletic field maintenance.  Completion of a technical school program for landscaping, ground maintenance, carpentry, electrical or mechanics.

Our office and shop is located in Eden Prairie. The Greener Blade is a rapidly growing company currently servicing over a 1500 residential

from 10+ Acre estates, to small single family homes. Application of  Fertilizer and herbicide products are the primary focus of this company.

Primary Responsibilities:

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Must possess strong organization skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Customer service experience, desired.
  • Ability to lift 50-60 lbs., regularly.
  • Ability to become fork lift certified.
