This position exists to perform skilled management care for
one-third of the 303 acres of grounds and all shrub, tree, and other
plant pruning and trimming on the campus of Minnesota State
This position has been assigned to a weather-essential function
under the provision of MnSCU Regulation 4.4 and the Minnesota State
University Weather & Emergency Closure Policy.
Ability to train and direct the work of less experienced
groundskeepers or work crews sufficient to assign responsibilities
and inspect finished work.
1. Ability to read, interpret and follow oral and written
instructions sufficient to independently complete assignments timely
using accepted practices and safe techniques.
2. Knowledge of horticulture techniques and practices (planting
schedules, germination intervals, and transplantation procedures)
sufficient to maintain and improve facility grounds/landscape and
recognize and/or treat plant diseases and pests.
3. Grounds-keeping experience on a multiple building complex
including the care of lawns and woody and herbaceous plants using
accepted horticultural practices.
4. Experience with the safe use of and simple repair of hand-held
tools, riding machinery (all types of lawn and landscape equipment),
and snow removal equipment (hand and heavier equipment).
5. 6. Basic knowledge of chemical fertilizer or pesticide
application and related safety practices.
7. Ability to lift and move from 40 to 80 lbs.
8. Ability to work in inclement weather conditions.
9. Class D MN Driver's License at the time of hire.
Experience operating various equipment including but not limited
to, mowers, turf aerators, over seeders and field sweepers,
sufficient to mow, trim, edge, rake, fertilize, sod or seed lawns

Town & Country Landscaping of Rogers

Driver/Athletic Field Construction Equipment Operator
Looking for an Assistant that:
+ Has a CDL License; or willing to get one.
+ Has a medical card.
+ Clean Driving Record.
+ No Recreational Drug Use.
+ Must be on time and diligent.
+ Has background or willing to learn to operate tractors with
equipment used to construct or reconstruct athletic fields, golf
courses, along with larger scaled residential lots.
+ Work would involve soil grading, preparation for seed and or sod,
along with grading and shaping aglime ballfields. Assisting in
applying soil corrections. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
+ It is a full time seasonal position April 1 to Freeze up.
There is no hardscaping involved; eg. No installation of retaining
walls, pavers etc. We only work with the soils and turf.
It is a fun and enjoyable job, with something new every day. Small
crew with top notch equipment.
