MPSTMA Fall Workshop is set for Nov. 16 at Bielenberg Sports Center
in Woodbury. The focus of the workshop will be Field and
Playground Safety along with ways to deal with climate
One of our featured
Fred Rozumalski, is an ecologist and
landscape architect that leads the Green Infrastructure
practice group at Barr Engineering Co. in Minneapolis. He
holds degrees in horticulture, ecology and landscape
architecture and has been adjunct faculty in the Department
of Landscape Architecture at the University of Minnesota.
His work currently focuses on sustainable design that
addresses adaptation to climate change.
Rozumalski's topic is:
Landscape and Planting Design for our Changing Climate
Data is showing that our climate is changing. Winters are
shorter, storms are more intense and winds are increasing.
This is challenging for the plants in our landscapes. Learn
in this session how our design decisions, plant choices and
soil management techniques must evolve as our climate
